The Terminator is back! The movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger is coming to theaters once again in 2017. This time around, fans can see Terminator 2: Judgement Day in 3D.
The news comes on a very special day in the franchise’s universe: August 29th, Judgement Day. To celebrate the anniversary, the official Terminator Facebook page made the movie’s announcement by sharing a new poster.
The poster came with the tagline: “August 29th 1997: The day Skynet first became self aware. August 29th 2016: the day you first saw the brand new poster for Terminator 2 in 3D. Coming to theaters in 2017.”

Director James Cameron spoke to The Hollywood Reporter last year about the 3D release. “Next year marks the 25th anniversary of Terminator 2 and that seemed like the perfect time to bring it back but this time in an all-new 3D version,” said Cameron. “If you’ve never seen it, this’ll be the version you want to see and remember.”
